One of my hobbies is marine aquariums (saltwater aquariums and fish).

A marine aquarium is a wonderful thing, most everyone who visits my house "Ouh's" and "Ah's" and stares endlessly looking for fish hiding yet darting in and out of view.

The tank light at night cast an awesome glow throughout the room - bright enough to be classified as one on the most expensive reading lamps.

There is a dark side to having a 120 gallons of salt water in your main living area: 120 gallons of salt water looking for one of a zillion ways to escape. This is further compounded by the real problem with hosting a marine aquarium in your living room: the potential negative effect on the SAF*. A small to minor spill of water, salt, or chemicals in my living room would not overly upset me, but those types of incidents do terrible things to the SAF - which does directly effect me.

This site has a database "TANKeeper" I wrote that tracks the tank equipment, measurements, and fish. You can view the history of my tank and several friends who also use Tankeeper.
