Our travels started in San Antonio.
Did I mention we were flying United Airlines during a pilot strike? |
The Continental Airlines flight was to leave a couple hours after we had originally expected to leave. Can you say "Bar-Time". |
We spent quite a bit of time in many bars. Unfortunately the food vouchers United gives out doesn't cover alcohol - do you know how many bags of chips you can buy with $32 of food vouchers? (Answer:A shopping bag full even at airport prices). We arrived in San Francisco 4 hours late - not bad considering. |

Coming back we did our checks:
With only a plane change in Denver, we'd arrive in San Antonio by midnight. Did I mention we were flying United Airlines.... |
Denver's hotels are no where near the airport. Our plane from Denver to San Antonio never arrived (A mechanical problem they said); and after waiting for 4 hours in another bar playing Hearts (Which Steve sucks at!), United Airlines put us up at the distant Comfort Inn (Which is located 2 yards from the highway and had only smoked smelly rooms - It isn't to comfortable). Good thing we're booked on the first flight to San Antonio in the morning. I did mention we were flying United Airlines.... |

Karen got her boarding pass, Joanne got her boarding pass, Rob got his boarding pass, Steve got a "Whoops, we really don't have that many seats on this plane" sitting pass. Karen decided to stay with me for the next flight. We waved at Rob and Jo (Above) as they headed to San Antonio. We learned United is cheap in Denver, the meal vouchers are only $6 compared to $8 in San Antonio - and still covers only food (We still had chips from San Antonio so we didn't clean out the Denver stock). We got back to San Antonio about 16 hours later then originally planned. |
